When my daughter was changing from a toddler bed to a twin mattress, we needed to switch her room in the house to fit the new bed. Of course, I couldn’t let the opportunity pass by to without updating a few things and adding some key pieces to welcome her into the new space.
Not surprisingly, I wanted the new bed to be a focal point in the room. I found the perfect white wire twin bed from Wayfair. It was exactly the style I was looking for. To this I added some great lemon bedding to match the pastel fruit theme she had in her old room (link to Tutti Fruitti Toddler Room). The bedding, pillows and unicorn wall hanging were all affordably priced at Target.
I also was thrilled when I found a long white magazine rack that would be used to store my daughter’s beloved story books. It was skinny enough to fit on an empty wall and definitely turned out to be one of my favorite parts of the room. It may have to do with my love of children’s books or how cute the shelf came together by adding the plaque from Cabin + Cub.
And similar to her toddler room, my daughter’s play kitchen is still one of her most cherished possessions. She bakes up a storm and can often be found hosting tea parties or birthdays for her dolls. The fruit prints hanging above the kitchen were the inspiration for the room’s entire color palette and are available for download for free from my site here.
It was so fun to put together this girl’s room full of pastel goodness. Now to figure out my next decorating project!
