Recently, I was looking for another summer dessert option to offer guests at our Wedding Renewal Party (details on that monumental event to come). Since I already had chocolate and cookies covered, I figured a fresh fruit choice would be a necessary addition. And really, you can’t go wrong with whipped cream. But in true fashion, I ran out of time and wasn’t able to bake a cake to use. Enter a dessert hack I created unexpectedly, my one-Minute Strawberry Shortcake. You know I had to share when it turned out to be the most eaten dessert at the event.
INGREDIENTS
- 1 package Vanilla Loaf Cake (If you live in Canada, the brand I used is available at Loblaw stores, including Shoppers Drug Mart and Superstore)
- Fresh Cut Strawberries
- Whipped Cream
DIRECTIONS
- Taking the pre-made loaf, break it up into small pieces and place it at the bottom of the bowl/cup.
- Sprinkle a handful of strawberries on top.
- Top with whipped cream and add another strawberry as a garnish.
- Serve up and enjoy!
For the Anniversary Party, I bought plastic clear cups and mini silver spoons from the dollar store. I served them up on a white cake plate and once again, they were very well received! So whether you need a dessert for a summer bbq or a baby shower, this dessert hack is a no-brainer.
