My family will tell you that I am all about gifting experiences for birthdays and holidays. Every year for my son’s birthday we take him to a local amusement park and for my husband’s Christmas present, I usually gift him tickets to concert or special event. I love the idea of making a memory together over gifting something they may or may not use long term.
If you follow along, you may know that we have a household of sports fans. A little known fact, I actually wanted to be a sports broadcaster at one point in my career! I grew up watching the NBA’s Charlotte Hornets when I lived with my family in North Carolina and thought it would be so fun to get to report on sports as a job. Similarly, my husband shares the love of the game as he played basketball in high school and University. We in turn, have shared our love of the sport with our son.And while we are huge basketball fans, we are even bigger football fans! Don’t believe me, check out our Halloween costumes from two years ago, when I had us all dress up in football gear as “Team Wright” (details here). Or even better, the football themed decor that fills up my son’s room (details here). There aren’t many televised CFL or NFL games we miss!
For me, the athleticism of the professionals playing on the field is just so amazing to watch. And really, the experience you get watching a live football game is hard to beat! There is so much excitement with each play and the off field antics also add to the event.Of course, our CFL home team, the BC Lions are one of our favorites to watch. Before kids, my husband and I would go to game nights often with our friends, as it was a great and inexpensive alternative to going to a bar or club. Post kids, the experience is a bit different, but still extremely memorable, as our football loving son absolutely adores it when he gets to take in the action in person. I recently got to take him to the team’s preseason home opener and you would have thought we were at the Super Bowl. He loved cheering on the home team and was yelling at the refs when he thought they made an incorrect call.
The 2018 season marks 65 years for the BC Lions and the team will be celebrating all season long at their home games. Tickets at a discounted rate for all this season’s games can be purchased by clicking on the link below and using the access code “JESSICA”:
Our family sure is excited to follow along with the BC Lions this upcoming monumental season. After back to back preseason wins and a healthy team roster, they are setup nicely to make a good push towards the 2018 Grey Cup! Roar You Lions Roar!
