As I have mentioned before, I love getting the entire family involved in a group costume come Halloween. While I know time is not on my side for this as the kids get older, I managed to have everyone on board with this year’s circus theme.
The costumes for our getups were quite simple to put together so I thought I would share.
RINGLEADER
What mom doesn’t feel like the ringleader of their own family circus at one point or another. So I knew I wanted to be the leader of our troupe. My outfit wouldn’t be complete without a ring of fire, which was simply a hula hoop with felt strips and my very own lion.
Supplies
- Red Jacket
- Black Hat
- Hula Hoop
- Yellow and Orange Felt
- Small Lion
There isn’t a mightier guy than the head of our house. Our very own strong man was all set with his barbel (simply two foam balls spray painted and put on the ends of a black stick) and top hat.
Supplies
- Stripe Shirt
- Black Hat
- Foam Balls Spray Painted Black
- Long Black Stick
It was hardest to get my son on board with our themed costume this year. The older he gets, the more ideas on what he wants to be understandably. So when I found this gorilla costume at a local store, I knew it would be a great fit. And to be honest, it was one of two costumes he had this year. He was also an inflatable T-Rex, which was also fun!
Supplies
- Black Outfit
- Gorilla Mask
Our littlest family member was pretty easy to convince of what she would be when it involved wearing a party dress. This costume was easy to pull off since it involved a couple items we already had. All you need to add is a little face paint and clown hat.
Supplies
- Tutu Dress
- Knee Highs
- Pom Poms
- Party Hat
- Facepaint
In our circus gear, I can say it was another very sweet Halloween enjoyed. I swear each one is better than the last as both kids love walking the neighbourhood streets together rounding up goodies. Though, as you can see from my daughter’s face, we sure weren’t all that happy the day after. Luckily the next holiday is right around the corner for us to enjoy!
