It is hard to believe that it has been a year since I first shared my blog with the world. Of course, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to mark ‘This Sweet Happy Life’ turning one!
Ironically, my blog was created as a distraction last Spring when life wasn’t feeling all that happy or sweet. In the first few months of 2016, I had lost my grandmother and dealt with an unexpected pregnancy and miscarriage. While I eventually had to face my grief head on, in the beginning, I let the blog act as my therapy and my escape. Both my grandmother and grandfather were passionate artists and writers, so part of me wanted to honor them by starting my own creative project.
I do feel like my blogging journey has been a bit like motherhood. A steep learning curve, with late nights and early mornings and a roller coaster of emotions, with many highs and lows. But similar to my journey as a mom, I can also say I have learned so much and have grown as an individual, as I try to live my passions and find time to be creative amongst real life as a full-time mom and part-time career woman.
So to those of you supporting me and those of you following along, thank you so much! There are many days I’m lifted up by the amazing online community and all the people I have met along the way near and far. For I do know this for sure after the last year; knowledge is better shared, whether it be our triumphs or our despair. Here is to more sharing and hopefully inspiring in This Sweet Happy Life!
