Party with My Peeps Easter Brunch

One of my favorite memories as a child was from Easter: My mom and neighbor decided to organize and host a morning full of Easter activities. It included an egg hunt, pictures with the Easter Bunny, and was topped off with a full on parade. All the neighborhood kids marched down the streets around our house while donning their Easter best (complete with homemade bonnets and batons) alongside a wagon blasting music. Despite this being over 20 years ago now, it still brings a smile to my face thinking about all the fun we had.

As I have mentioned before, my mom’s love for the holidays is something I truly appreciate. There is something to be said about celebrating a bit more, bringing people together, and spreading happiness. With Easter coming up, I got in touch with my fabulous mom-friend Melissa who runs the Etsy shop “The Prettiest Bow”. Like myself, she loves a good party, and our daughters really enjoy getting together to play. We decided to host a morning filled with fun Easter activities–complete with delicious treats, of course!

Inspired by the candied Peeps you find at Easter, the party’s theme and color palette was bright yellow and neon pink. On a recent shopping trip, I came across wrapping paper that couldn’t be more perfect and decided to put it as our dessert table backdrop. To add a bit of texture, we finished off the background with yellow fans.

The dessert table featured a variety of sweets that were perfect for the morning gathering. Yogurt cups, cinnamon buns, donuts, and glass bottles of milk were laid out for all to enjoy. Festive bunny cookies, cupcakes, and, of course, Peeps also donned the sweets table. Don’t worry, we also served up fruit cups and popcorn for those not wanting to indulge in the all the sugar!

In addition to enjoying all the sweet treats, we had two activities with the little ones in attendance. We created cute bunny canvas prints (see my previous post with the simple DIY instructions) and used the leftover paint to decorate paper eggs.Of course, we couldn’t send the kids home empty-handed. Each girl received a Peeps goody bag filled with Easter treats. The lucky party-goers received adorable bunny or duck socks from “Petite Littles” and handmade bunny headbands from “The Prettiest Bow”. Along with their Spring accessories, their bags had sidewalk chalk, lipgloss, jellybeans, and a lollipop. A pretty good haul, to say the least! It was such a fun-filled morning to mark the Easter season. Can’t wait to do it again next year!
