As I have mentioned before, we are lucky to live in one of the most beautiful cities in the world, but it doesn’t comes without sacrifice. The real estate prices are extremely high, and space is at a premium. We currently live in a 1,300 square foot home, and our previous space was just over 800 square feet. While I love our cozy little house, but I always say that when we move onto a different home, a bigger kitchen and white fireplace is at the top of my wish list.
Some may think the fireplace would be to provide heat…but for me that would be secondary. I have always wanted a white mantel to decorate from season to season. While there is no immediate plan to move, in the meantime I often decorate a small buffet that sits in between our dining room and living room. This is the first year I have updated it for Spring and the Easter season. I think the final results are pretty sweet, so check out the details below!
No matter what holiday or month, I try to ensure there are a variety of different sized pieces, along with a green/floral element. I love the freshness it provides to the space, even if the greenery isn’t necessarily real. In this case, I used a dollar store vine and a floral arrangement I found from Michaels. I usually like to include fresh flowers, but when I came across this one, it was hard to pass up. It could easily be passed as real, and the color palette was the perfect addition to the space.
Considering Easter is around the corner, wooden eggs in a glass tray and a whimsical bunny were included in the table space. The look was finished off with two printables in different sizes. The larger abstract pastel piece was purchased off Etsy. The other is one I had my designer friend create and am now offering as a free download for my readers. Both prints were placed in textured white 8″ X 10″ and 11″ X 14″ frames, and the final touch was adding a gold and white Easter banner strung above the table.
As my mom has always said, “Happy Easter, Happy Spring, Happy Happy Everything!” Enjoy!
