Before Christmas, my mom usually hosts an open house to get some family friends together to celebrate the season. With a busy December, the schedule didn’t allow for it to happen, yet we still wanted a reason to get together and catch up. We also came across the cutest pajamas that just needed to be bought, and they presented the perfect snowman theme. Low and behold, the Pancakes and PJs party came about.
Upon arrival, each child received a present with a pair of matching snowman pajamas inside. Not only did the kids enjoy opening the gift, they were all keen to put their PJs on.
On the menu were, of course, pancakes, as well as a couple other breakfast foods like cereal, yogurt, and blueberries. We also couldn’t resist sharing some treats, such as adorable snowflake cookies and powdered snowman donuts. Hot chocolate was also a must, and was served in festive mugs that were sent home with each guest at the end of the party.
Since it was a small group, we managed to fit them all at one table. We covered the table with wrapping paper for decoration and easy cleanup. Each place setting was a cute snowman plate, along with winter cups and napkins.
We kept the activities to a minimum because the kids were just excited to see each other and play with a few toys. However, we did set out some snowman coloring sheets and crayons. Some even participated in the snowman craft I organized, which consisted of gluing cottons balls and snowflakes on a pre-made snowman outline.
It was definitely a fun morning for all involved. This theme is quite perfect for a kids birthday or a holiday party…and a good reminder that sometimes you don’t even need a reason to throw a good party!
