At the Puppy Love Valentine’s Party I hosted with Melissa from Petite Littles Everyday, the pink and red themed backdrop created behind the dessert table was made entirely from dollar store materials. Not only was it extremely inexpensive, it was easy to install and I loved how it turned out. I thought I would share the details of how to create a similar background, which cost less than $8 to create.
STEP 1: COLLECT THE SUPPLIES
The supplies needed are as follow:
- 24 Square Paper Plates
- Painters Tape
- Banners
STEP 2: PLACE PLATES ON WALL
Select the place you would like to install the backdrop. Start by placing one plate on the wall, by putting some folded over painters tape on the back. Continue putting up the plates across the wall. In the case of the design I created, I placed 6 plates across. Then work down the wall, in the same manner. I did 4 plates down the wall.
STEP 3: ADD BANNERS
The last step is to add banners to the front to match the theme. Of course, it should be noted, that this look can be used for any occasion and can also be done with circle plates as well. Think of the endless possibilities for birthdays, anniversary parties, etc. Such a display could also work as a great photobooth background at such events.
This idea is extremely versatile for any party. Again, who doesn’t love a hight impact yet reasonable party backdrop. You can see other Dollar Store Backdrops I have done for a parties, like the Space Birthday, Halloween Party and Baby Shower. Hopefully you can make use of some dollar story supplies for one of your gatherings soon.
