If you follow along with my posts, you will know that our family loves sports. It’s a toss up as to whether we love basketball or football more, as we enjoy watching the athleticism of the players and competition between teams.
When it came to switching up my son’s toddler superhero room to something a little more mature, I decided to go with a football theme. In my online research, I found a lot of rooms that used dark colours, like brown, orange, red, and navy blue.
I appreciate bright spaces, so I decided to go with a more neutral white tone, with accents of silver, navy, and green. This was also decided, in part, to play ode to my son’s favorite team: the Seattle Seahawks.
Like many of the design projects I take on as a busy, working mother of two, it took a couple months to put all the pieces together and put the finishing touches on the room. Nonetheless, this also allowed me to select prints and search out items that matched the color palette, without breaking the bank.
Needless to say, my son was a thrilled with the final outcome. However, he is already planning his next room. Big surprise, it is a basketball theme.
